    Love this lead

This lead is perfect for me and my baby girl for when we go hiking together as I can just wear it around my waist and still have both hands empty. The length of the lead after being clipped around my waist is still long enough for her to get ahead of me for a bit. I bought it with the matching harness with the handle and it is a wonderful combination. However, the lock of the clip for the lead to clip on the harness is pretty difficult to use. Hence 4 starts instead of 5.

Nice long leash for my puppy

When the leash arrived, I was initially a little disappointed because I had accidentally ordered the wrong version. I originally wanted one without the waist-belt feature, as I never planned to use it.
After doing some research, though, I found that many trainers and dog owners recommend a longer leash for puppies. A leash around 1.9–2 metres gives them more freedom to explore and reduces the constant tension that can occur when they reach the end of a shorter leash.
I adjusted the leash to its full 1.9-metre length and use it as a standard hand-held leash. It has worked perfectly for my puppy's walks. It's lightweight, gives her enough room to sniff and explore comfortably, and still provides good control. It also matches her collar nicely.
Overall, I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a longer leash for their puppy or small dog.

    Great length and super lightweight

Great length and super lightweight, but very strong even when the dog pulls suddenly.
Doesn’t tangle easily, even when walking two dogs (Tibetan Terriers approx 12 kg each). Love the clip attachment on the handle.

    Great leads

I find these lightweight Ruffwear leads perfect for my mini schnauzer - this one is very adaptable and love the option of being able to use it as a longer loose lead, or hands free for running with my dog. Good quality, strong, light and easy to wash.

    Lightweight & versatile

I bought this in conjunction with the awesome Flagline Dog Harness.

Pros: Lightweight, around the waist option for hands free walking; poo bag pouch, can easily tuck it under the harness when dog is off lead.

Cons: It would be better if you have two seperate clip options 1) normal hand loop 2) around the waist. Even though it's relatively easy to adjust for around the waist, it would be much easier to have a seperate clip so you don't have to adjust between the two.

Flagline leash was a let down

Given how great the Ruffwear harnesses are I was definitely expecting the same usability/quality of their leads but was sadly disappointed. The crux clip gets jammed when trying to release it. The adjustable buckle does not hold so you cannot determine the length of the leash you want as it constantly slips. if it is not tied around something solid you are unable to keep the length you want it at. I only used this leash once but had to tie a knot it in to secure the 'adjustable buckle' and had more trouble clipping and unclipping the crux clip than was worth while. It is a beautiful looking leash but sadly has been put away until i can find a new home for it. Canine Spirit were wonderful to deal with as always but the product itself was very disappointing.

Hi, I am interested in the front range harness, and collar, but am considering flagline a waist leash. I notice they are not exactly the same in colouring (Teal Green & Sage green). Are they similar in colour? Would they match. Its hard to compare them in the photos. First world problem I know, but its important our furbabys look their best right? Appreciate your help on this. Many thanks.

Thanks for your question. The Flagline Leash is much lighter than the Aurora Teal of the Front Range Harness & Collar.
However, if you zoom in on the Flagline Leash picture you will see it is 'speckled' as it is made of a lighter/whiter thread woven with a darker thread which is almost identical to the fabric of the harness.
The webbing straps on the harness & collar are then a little darker again. So they all appear to be the same 'tone' - but the leash is the lightest, then the fabric of the harness and then the collar webbing the darkest. That was hard to write in words but hopefully it makes sense :) I think you will find them okay together (you can return the leash tho if you find it isn't right).
